The Havasu Health Foundation put on a walking-relay last Saturday (February 28th, 2009). Their motive and motto was to "GET OFF THE COUCH AND WALK". The 30 miles started at one end of town and traveled all through town and back to the starting point. Our 4-women team each walked between 7 & 8 miles. I had 8.1 miles on my leg. We did it to have fun and to appreciate the beauties of walking. Thankfully, most of us can do it, it's free and enjoyable! We walked very fast, covering the 30 miles in 6 hours, 32 minutes, giving us 13.06 minutes per mile. It's a yearly event and one I'd definitely consider doing next year!

Wow! Looks like it was a lot of fun! Great time, too! (Next year you'll practically be running!:D)
That's great! I've done several different walk/run things and I always have good time plus it motivates me to work out! :)
Very nice! You should come up in October and do the Leavenworth Half Marathon with us!!
i thought i had commented on this, but found i hadn't so sorry i'm so delayed! i'm so proud that you did this, for putting yourself out there & just enjoying yourself. tho i'm not sure i like that my jog is slower than your walking mile times... ha... =)
oh forgot to say- i appreciate your healthy example in our family when most of us would rather just be lazy & eat candy all day long...=)
