A little music...

Malia, on the flute, Tamara on the violin and
Ariana (from Elk Grove) on the piano...
The girls did some music after the gospel
meeting here last night. It was so pretty!

A NEW GUEST IN OUR HOME

"Smiling Jack"
So, I had a temporary moment of insanity by
saying we could TEMPORARILY take in this
sweet pooch...Daniel's manager at work had
to have him gone from his apartment no later
than Tuesday (7-27-10). So Tino was going to
take Jack to the pound if someone didn't take
him. I just hated to see that happen, and I knew
we could take him there if need be and/or if we
couldn't find a suitable home for him.
Jack is 1 and a half years old, is border colley
and black lab mix...is loveable, slobbery, burps,
he knows how to sit, shake-a-paw, loves to eat,
is quite an escape artist...(never leave a door open
or he is out like lightening)...seems to be a good "bird
dog"...or should I say...he loves to scare-up the quail,
has boundless energy...has been allowed to sit/sleep on
the couch and beds...jumps up on them like nobody's
business and thinks he actually belongs there! Everyone
seems to love him...I'm still thinking that moment of
insanity was just a moment too long! Tom doesn't want
me to get rid of him before he has a chance to meet him
(and I know.....fall in love with him so I won't be able to
get rid of him)!!! : D
Tom doesn't get home from harvest for another couple
weeks at least....Jack is 42 lbs. of loveable mutt!
Ugh...now what...everyone will have my tail if I
utter the words........'he must go'.

The Lizard...

Derek was floating around in the pool and he
heard a little splash...(though he was alone
in the pool)...he looked over and at first thought
it was a snake and realized this lizard had fallen
into the pool. This lizard owes its life to Derek,
he'd of drowned if Derek hadn't retrieved it out
with the pool net! It just sat on the net for a good
long while...Derek even touched it (as you can
see in the picture). We have had plenty of dead
lizards, mice, scorpion and rabbits in our pool.
They don'tknow how to swim or get out!

Some "rogue winds" came up and sprayed
water all over...thats part of
Monsoon Season in the SW.

Malia holding Nadia after her swim in the pool.

Still 100 degrees though!

YOGA YOGA YOGA YOGA

Thigh Stretch

Tree Pose

Cobra Pose

Downward Dog

The Plank

Butterfly Pose

I look pretty silly in some of these pictures
but thanks to Anna, she bought me the yoga mat
and a yoga book awhile back for a gift. I didn't
use it right away...but then last summer I bought
a DVD for YOGA beginners. Did that for awhile
but it's not as much fun to do at home and alone!
A couple months ago, our gym started a 5:45 a.m.
"Sunrise Yoga" Class twice a week.
Have really enjoyed it...it's quiet and really great
for flexibility. The older I get the tighter my muscles
become...not tight as in firm (I only wish :-) but
tighter as in NOT wanting to stretch and flex like
they used to! ha ha So these classes have been good.
I think I'll have to do it for years to get good, but to
me it doesn't matter how good, but that I feel good
once I've done it!

(If I messed-up on some of the names of the
poses feel free to correct me...I'm new to this)

Derek Taking a Chill Pill...

"Chill-laxin'"
Derek took Kirk S. and his boat and spent
Saturday on the lake with him...
More Chill-laxin'
What do you do when you have the day
off and a boat and lake at your disposal
and it's 118 degrees?

Derek took a couple of "self-portraits"
Didn't know these pix were on my
camera until I opened up my
Kodak Account!

BTW...he's working on that summer tan...
Anna, you probably know why I posted
these two pix (from our phone conversation
today)! ;-D

This Made Me Laugh Today...

Men Are Just Happier People.
Your last name stays put.
The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
Chocolate is just another snack.
You can never be pregnant.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom
because this one is just too icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a
nut on a bolt.
Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks and engines.
A ten-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are
more than enough. You never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.
Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle last for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes--one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife.
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on december 24th in 25 minutes.
No wonder men are happier!

Most of these SO fit my hubby...and I love him ALL the same...all 26 years of him!

A Bug and A Basketball

This huge grasshopper-looking thing was on our front
porch...it was about 4 - 5 inches long...ewwwwwwww
What is it? An overgrown grasshopper? Was this
the "locusts and wildhoney" we read about in the
Bible?
Tom & Derek "shooting hoops" in the pool.
It is now a "balmy" 86 degrees.
Just Right!!!!

Today was in the triple digits...113!!!
Even a bit muggy.
The water was so
r-e-f-r-e-s-h-i-n-g.
