Happy Halloween

" Candy corn was created in the 1880's by George
Renninger, of the Wunderle Candy Co. The three
colors of candy corn are meant to symbolize actual
corn. Each piece is approximately the size of a whole
kernel of corn and is made primarily from sugar,
corn syrup and honey. Machines now perform
the tasks originally done by people. Few changes
have been made to the process or recipe."
Have a Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday Landon,
you are four years old today...

Happy 17th Birthday Daniel and Malia

We had everyone stay over after Bible Study tonight to
help us celebrate Daniel & Malia's Birthday. They both
wanted (as they do every year at their birthday time)
popcorn "cake" (I make them into balls though) with
M & M's. They don't want the peanuts that normally go
into them...just M & M's. Been making them for years
now. I also made some FAT-FREE Brownies that
actually tasted YUMMY! Starbucks decaf and we
were ready to go!!! Short and sweet, a nice little
gathering and we did sing a nice rendition of
Happy Birthday!!!!

Daniel & Malia's Gift Exchange Before School

What Daniel got for Malia...candles, etc. etc.
Nice shirt from Aeropostale

and three other T-shirts from Dillards and Aero

...and a garbage can...black, to match her room!

Malia's Bedroom "re-do" for her 17th Birthday

Cozy corner with a twin bed.

Her bed and new spread and curtains.

The "film-strip" I got her...seemed like a
good fit with her new color scheme...
black/white/silvery-gray/with some
burgundy!

Piece of artwork Malia purchased for her new
bedroom re-do...Nice choice I thought.

Black N White poster we framed....
LOVE Paris...yes sireeeeeee =D

Neato black candle wall sconce Malia
found on-line.

Bushels of Baskets...

Our Wall Unit in the living room. I decided to "de-clutter"
it with Baskets...when Michaels put their baskets on half-
price (they're still expensive..but anyways) I went and got
a bunch of them and put all my books inside to maybe make
the wall-unit not so cluttery looking. Not sure if it helped or
not, but I think so.

That sweet little "lamp" is from JoAnn for my
birthday and the whole top "shade" is actually
made of WAX...(but not the bottom). So, now,
do you think I'll burn it??? I don't think so,
it's sure cute the way it is!!!! It came from
the French Bouquet.

Another Sweet Birthday Gift

This sweet gift arrived in the mail today and you would
guess that it came from Seattle =)
Makes me feel a little nostalgic.
Harv and Linda sent this along with
a Starbucks gift card...How
SEATTLE can a person get???
SWEET!!!!

Another Beautiful Sunset Tonight..

I looked outside and saw another beautiful sunset,
however, I'm usually not quite quick enough to catch
it by camera in it's spectacular glory.
Awesome to think of God's wonderful
creation...

South Pacific Musical

Last Night JoAnn, Barbara and I went to the Musical:
"South Pacific" here in Havasu at our own "Grace
Arts Live"...main street theatre. It was done very
nicely with locals as well as 'out of towners'. The
next two coming up for the year in November and
December are "Nunsense" a comedy, and "The
Wizard of Oz". It was an evening enjoyed by each of us.

Pictures from when Ginny D. was here for a visit

Today, under the palapa...We were totally squinting
with the sun in our eyes...but Ginny wanted to get our
picture.

Tom (dad), Ginny and I walked from Rotary Park down
to the London Bridge...it was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed
showing Ginny the sights of Lake Havasu. It's such a
beautiful place especially when it cools down to the 80's.

Super windy day...but it's Ginny and I next to one of the
15 or so lighthouse replicas in Lake Havasu. You can
see the "chop" on the lake behind us!

Some new things...

The duvet cover and bed set for the down
comforter you gave us Anna
A close-up of the design.

The metal wall sculpture Malia gave me for my
birthday on Monday. We had looked at them at
the store together and she knew I liked it...

The Aeropostale sweater Malia also gave me for my
birthday...it goes with so many of my things and
is comfy with the 3/4 sleeves. (I think it's the FIRST
time I've ever taken a picture of MYSELF with my
camera...tried to not get my face in the way of things!!!)

shakers for my birthday...

My little crocheted "welcome" I framed. Found this
summer at the thrift store for $2.00.

On the entry table by the front door.

Also by the front door as you enter...

On the dining table.
