Daniel's "New" Boat. It's a 21' Carerra. He got a steal of a deal and it's in excellent shape for an '89.
It's been completely redone inside and out. Derek and his girlfriend, Taylor and Terry C. took it out after
Daniel & Austin had to come in ahead of time to go to work. Derek wakeskated & Terry wakeboarded.
Daniel driving his new boat to the dock @ Site 6. Too bad he had to go to work! Austin J. too!
Daniel, Austin, Terry, Taylor and Derek.
Coming into the docks. Tom & I met them down there so we could see the new boat. It was a beautiful warm day...in the mid 70's.

DESERT STORM BOAT RACES

Lots of helicopter rattled above us and the boats, taking pictures, etc. There was even a "rescue swimmer" aboard the helicopter just in case there was an emergency on the water with these race boats! Daniel was "skipping rocks" while we waited for the boats to race. We watched one boat go 150 mph. The tents along the beach are vendors selling food and 'wares'.

30-Mile Walking Relay

The Havasu Health Foundation put on a walking-relay last Saturday (February 28th, 2009). Their motive and motto was to "GET OFF THE COUCH AND WALK". The 30 miles started at one end of town and traveled all through town and back to the starting point. Our 4-women team each walked between 7 & 8 miles. I had 8.1 miles on my leg. We did it to have fun and to appreciate the beauties of walking. Thankfully, most of us can do it, it's free and enjoyable! We walked very fast, covering the 30 miles in 6 hours, 32 minutes, giving us 13.06 minutes per mile. It's a yearly event and one I'd definitely consider doing next year!
