Jamestown, North Dakota

Tom's brother Steve was home for a day before he left for the oil fields and back to work.  This is one of his trucks that he uses to haul water up in the oil fields...the truck and trailer.  He and Tom were getting it hooked up and ready to go.

Yes, Jamestown has lots of water, but nothing like Minot and some other parts of the state!  Those white things you see are the tops of a bridge under the water!  The farmers are bemoaning ALL the rain, but it is worse in other parts of the state.

This is Harvey and Hazel Holzwarth, a couple Tom lived with and worked for when he was just 17 years old!  Harvey is now 93 and Hazel is 87.  They do well living on their own, Harvey still drives!
They just renewed Harvey's driver's license for five more years!!!
Lyle, Alvin and Glenda Baker (cousins of Tom's on mom's-Myrna's side of the family).  We had lunch with them @ Perkins in Jamestown.  Lyle lives in Buchanan.
Met up with Randy and Lisa and their son, Nick @ Paradiso Mexican restaurant.  Randy and Lisa got married a week after Tom and I (27 years ago), Tom was in their wedding.  After they got married the four of us drove out to Seattle together on our honeymoon!  (27 years ago this June).
While having supper together with Randy & Lisa who walks in but our niece, Jamie Jo from Minnesota!  What a surprise.  We didn't think we'd get to see her but she came to Jamestown for the weekend to see some of her girlfriends.  So, this morning we met up with her at The Depot for brunch.  It was great to see her and catch-up on what she's been doing lately.
We made it to the Pingree Cemetary today...Tom wanted to find the graves of his aunt and uncle and we think this picture below is of Grandpa Foster (Tom's dad's father) but it just says:  "FOSTER".
We walked around the whole cemetary and Tom found LOTS of people he knew and names he knew.  He was glad for that stop as he has wanted to do that for a long time.

I found this house to be VERY interesting, not because its that unique or anything, however, the window next to the door was ajar and being held up by an open whisky bottle (this picture doesn't show it), and the wall next to the front door is covered by antlers is pretty unique, or that there is hardly a stitch of paint on the house, or that the lawn isn't mowed, or that the 80+ year old man that lives in the house sleeps on an old army cot, or that it is several miles from town, but I think the thing that intrigues me the most...his name is Billy Dietz (that is NOT the correct spelling btw) but how it sounds...is that the man has millions of dollars and chooses to live this way!!!!   Now, isn't that an interesting story!  We saw him out on his 4-wheeler rounding up his cattle.  Just an ordinary looking man.

It was nice to talk with you the other day & catch up a bit.

Wow, it's hard to believe that the bridge is covered with water. It looks like nary a cloud in the sky in that picture...but in the truck picture you can see mud puddles!! Hope the weather started turning out nice & quit raining. It was 80 today and supposed to be 85 tomorrow so me & my lady friends are going skiing!!!
